Push Your Head Towards The Air Fan Memory
An anthem…among several anthems
From : Lemming
An End Has a Start was written to be a big, loud and immediate record and it has a number of genuine anthems on it. Unfortunately, that abundance may have meant that songs that would otherwise have attained the accolade of being the album's centrepiece are overlooked, purely because of the grandeur of their neighbours. In my opinion, and this may be controversial, Push Your Head Towards the Air is evenly matched to The Weight of the World for that title. From its inception, TWOTW was designed to be an anthem (specifically for Glastonbury, if I remember correctly). I don't know if PYHTTA was written with the same directional focus but it ends up as a similar animal. The main diversion point is that one seems to address a single person, with the other more broad and general in its intended audience. Most importantly, both of them promote hope. Noteworthy, given that it was around the time of their second album that Editors' media-appointed gloom baggage became fully attached.
The Black Gold Archives

Welcome to the Black Gold Archives. Explore the timeline as it chronicles sixteen tracks that make up the Black Gold greatest hits record and discover stories from each song. Videos, photos and memories written by the band and people who lived through every era of Editors. And, most importantly, add your own memory to the archives and let the whole world share in it. Every memory that is shared will be added to the archive. A photo of a tiny, sweaty gig in the early 2000s… A grainy video taken from your old camera phone thrust in the air while you lived out your favourite festival moment… Or maybe words. A story, a moment, a memory.

Explore the Black Gold Archive at your leisure and share in the moments that crafted Editors. And don’t forget to leave something to show the world that you were part of the journey too.
