Birmingham Barfly
From : Katie Brownett
December 2005 my first ever gig was in Birmingham. My boyfriend mention this band he had heard and liked the sound of so he ordered some tickets as a Christmas present. 4 of us traveled from Leicester to see this new band that he was raving about. Couldn’t find a parking spot so dumped the car anywhere that had a space (later got a ticket lol) we saw posters for someone called Adele playing at the barfly as we queued. The first two bands played I enjoyed but then the Editors started to play and I was in love. Their joy Division/ depeche mode style had me mesmerised. Bullets was the one for me. That song was my favourite that night. I was right at the front in front of Russ. Unfortunately phones back then weren’t the greatest so no videos just great memories although I did manage to get a picture of Tom I have it somewhere! You are still to this day my favourite band! I even have a 30th birthday card signed by you guys! You probably can’t remember doing it :) my partner and I (yes same person from 2005) went to the Birmingham gig in March 2018 it was amazing! When I heard violence for the first time it blown my mind! Wow! My daughter has been brainwashed and loves you guys too! I have videos of her singing violence! :)
