Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors Fan Memory
‘Smokers’ performance at the main stage of Oxegen festival in Ireland 2008.
From : jonathan jordan
Editors gave the best performance of an entire festival on the first night, even followed over the course of the weekend by great acts such as R.E.M, The Verve, Rage against the Machine, Amy Winehouse and The National just to name a few. Editors played the twilight set and were the stand out act of what is considered to be the apex of the now defunct Oxegen festival. I remember distinctly the reception they received from the Irish crowd that evening as Tom proclaimed "Oxegen, we can't fuc*ing hear you". 25-30,000 people were absolutely rocking as can be seen in the video, it really set the tone for the whole weekend and cemented their place as an incredible live band. I still get goosebumps to this day watching the video, it really is such a special performance of a truly great song.

Every memory that is shared will be added to the archive. A photo of a tiny, sweaty gig in the early 2000s… A grainy video taken from your old camera phone thrust in the air while you lived out your favourite festival moment… Or maybe words. A story, a moment, a memory.
