Stoke Sugarmill 10/09/2004 (with The Boxer Rebellion)
From : Piers Hewitt (The Boxer Rebellion)
Back in early 2004 we had the pleasure of meeting them for the first time, under their previous guise, and supporting us on a couple of shows. They were lovely people that we were only too happy to stay in touch with, as we are to this day.  Then 6 months later they went out with us again, under their new name of Editors, and with what felt like an entirely new set of great songs.  I will never forget the impact of the first show of that second run of gigs. It was like watching a different band, and if you had told me, as I stood at the back of Stoke Sugarmill that night watching them play ‘Munich’, that they would get to best-of, arena-filling, Festival-headlining status, then frankly I would probably have believed you.
The Black Gold Archives

Welcome to the Black Gold Archives. Explore the timeline as it chronicles sixteen tracks that make up the Black Gold greatest hits record and discover stories from each song. Videos, photos and memories written by the band and people who lived through every era of Editors. And, most importantly, add your own memory to the archives and let the whole world share in it. Every memory that is shared will be added to the archive. A photo of a tiny, sweaty gig in the early 2000s… A grainy video taken from your old camera phone thrust in the air while you lived out your favourite festival moment… Or maybe words. A story, a moment, a memory.

Explore the Black Gold Archive at your leisure and share in the moments that crafted Editors. And don’t forget to leave something to show the world that you were part of the journey too.
