Stuck between the past & the world of today
From : Nadine
March 18. A few intimate VIolence album launch shows have been announced. Manchester Cathedral was one of them. I was actually about to discover a bit more of the city itself that day before their gig at the Cathedral would take place in the evening. Was on a *mission* to visit an old library as i heard some familiar & some brand new tunes in the air passing the Cathedral. Excitement level 3000!! How could i resist staying..? Who would have wanted to see an old dusty library instead?! ;) Luckily it was open so i walked in... and as I’m a total sucker for old historic architecture i soaked up that breathtaking atmosphere accompanied by their songs, staring at the ceiling like an idiot & watching the Soundcheck in that glorious venue, had some nice talks with some people and also bumped into the guys after. Whenever you meet them they’re super kind and lovely, its always a total pleasure. It’s amazing how every gig leaves you on a high, shakes you up, gives you so much energy & so many feelings, makes you smile, dance & forget everything else around you. I bet I’m not alone here :) Finding a pub after, in rainy Manchester, which wasn’t closed yet (middle of the week) to let that great night come to an end was kind of a challenge though but we made it in the end :) Excellent few days! Here’s a short snippet of Sugar during Soundcheck. Remember when i first heard it live in Brum in 2012 and it simply blew me away!
