Thank you.
From : Ruairdhri Wright
I feel like this may be cheating. My entry is not a retelling of a single memory, but more of a thank you note; for everything their music has given me over the years. I'm 24. More than anything I want to be an illustrator. To support myself and those I love through my drawings. More than anything I want to be honest. It's hard. Harder than I ever thought it would be. No one can really tell you how to do it, and no one can really understand what you're doing until the work is done. There's loneliness in that. Editors are always there, one song away, to remind me why it's worth it. That the fire of creativity is worth the burns endured through wielding it, and though we may dive through oceans of night for our dreams, not one of us is ever truly alone. After you released Black Gold, I felt compelled to draw the song. I work mainly in graphite, the metallic powder reflects and glares in the light, like metal. Black Gold has always been my colour. Thank you all so much. Ruairdhri
The Black Gold Archives

Welcome to the Black Gold Archives. Explore the timeline as it chronicles sixteen tracks that make up the Black Gold greatest hits record and discover stories from each song. Videos, photos and memories written by the band and people who lived through every era of Editors. And, most importantly, add your own memory to the archives and let the whole world share in it. Every memory that is shared will be added to the archive. A photo of a tiny, sweaty gig in the early 2000s… A grainy video taken from your old camera phone thrust in the air while you lived out your favourite festival moment… Or maybe words. A story, a moment, a memory.

Explore the Black Gold Archive at your leisure and share in the moments that crafted Editors. And don’t forget to leave something to show the world that you were part of the journey too.
