Papillon Fan Memory
Where it All Began
From : Ben Parker
Papillon - where the obsession started. I’d been a fan of the first two albums and played them on a regular basis but I remember sitting in my bedroom one day in 2009 and my brother shouting through the en-suite that joined our two rooms, ‘Ben, Editors have a new song. You need to listen to it’. So that’s what I did. I found the video on YouTube and I’ve couldn’t believe my ears. It was nothing I’d heard before. I became completely and utterly obsessed with everything Editors. I trawled through hours and hours of videos on YouTube. I talked to everyone and anyone who would listen about them. The only thing I hadn’t done, was see them live. I hadn’t really been to any gigs before 2009 but a couple of mates and I decided to get tickets for Sheffield in the October of that year. What a decision that was! From that moment, seeing the songs live, seeing Papillon live, I knew that I couldn’t stop there. I’ve seen Editors a further 16 times and I’m seeing them for first time abroad in Madrid in February. Papillon and In This Light genuinely changed my life - I’ll be forever grateful. The obsession continues. The photo attached to this memory is Editors playing Papillon at Neighbourhood Weekender in May 2018.
The Black Gold Archives

Welcome to the Black Gold Archives. Explore the timeline as it chronicles sixteen tracks that make up the Black Gold greatest hits record and discover stories from each song. Videos, photos and memories written by the band and people who lived through every era of Editors. And, most importantly, add your own memory to the archives and let the whole world share in it. Every memory that is shared will be added to the archive. A photo of a tiny, sweaty gig in the early 2000s… A grainy video taken from your old camera phone thrust in the air while you lived out your favourite festival moment… Or maybe words. A story, a moment, a memory.

Explore the Black Gold Archive at your leisure and share in the moments that crafted Editors. And don’t forget to leave something to show the world that you were part of the journey too.
