Love at first sight during a boring afternoon
From : Marika
A long time ago, when I was barely 13 and bored, I used to spend my post-school afternoons zapping through TV channels. At the time (2005), MTV’s music videos where a must watch in my country (Italy) for people my age, but the turn towards pop and rap had started, and it was hard to stumble through some good alternative music. So one day, while zapping, I ended up on a nameless, weird TV channel - soon disappeared - where only seven or eight videos would be on, in a loop, for the whole day. Amongst them, a video for a catchy song called “Blood”, by this mysterious band with a captivating sound, a band that was nowhere to be found on popular music channels. And so every day, I’d be spending my afternoon on that channel, rewatching the same videos over and over again, just waiting for the “Blood” video to come up. I would never have imagined these guys, that I had seen in a video I’d stumbled upon in a totally unexpected way, would become my favourite band and the soundtrack of my life. It’s been 15 years, and I love Editors more and more each day. I did not know back then, but it was love at first sight (and listen).
